Source: NAME: From DUBOIS genealogy per Glenna Meade- Joseph was a native ofMaryland, he moved to the South Branch of the Potomac River Where hisson Morgan, was born in 1765. Moved to the forks of the Monongahelaand then in 1770 with the Zane brothers to the area of Wheeling, on Short Creek. Fort VanMeter, named forhim, was partially complete when the Indians attacked Fort Henry inSept 1777. (S1204)
